The HMYC now sails at Hop Brook Lake all season long.  During the Spring and Fall, the HMYC has special access to the park with keyed admittance.  Typically, we all gather at the gate 1/2 hour prior to the sailing time and enter and exit the park together so that we can lock the gate behind us.

During the Summer racing season (just before Memorial Day until the weekend after Labor Day) the HMYC sails at Hop Brook Lake in Middlebury CT and the park is generally open for the summer season. The park address is 4 Straits Turnpike (rt 63), Middlebury, CT 06762.  If visiting the park for the first time, about 1/4 mile after the guard shack, bear to the left and follow the road to the swimming area parking lot.  We typically park along the shore on the right at the beginning of the parking lot.  (Google Map to Hop Brook Lake …)

Note: If you are coming to sail, Hop Brook Lake does not have a dock to launch boats.  Therefore, at Hop Brook, you need to use boots or water shoes to wade into the water to launch your boats.  Bethany has a portable dock that is used during regular club racing and regattas.
